This week, we’re taking our hiking adventure to the next level with the Sanda Pathar Track in the stunning Margalla Hills. Designed for those who love a challenge, this route is packed with breathtaking views, forest trails, and refreshing stops along the way.
Barakhu Islamabad (the new hub for our athletes and outdoor lovers) → Shumber Waterfall → KP Guest House → Pharilla Forest Rest House → Sandapathar → Back

Align to Trail 5, Margalla Hills Islamabad
For this week’s adventure, we’re heading to one of the lesser-known routes of the Margalla Hills – the Align to Trail 5 Track. This hidden gem is perfect for hikers looking for a bit more challenge and a chance to explore beyond the regular paths.
Starting Point
You can begin your journey from Rumli Village or the Bruti Waterfall parking area, both connecting into the trail.
This is not a government-marked trail—it’s an unexplored track that runs close to the famous Trail 5. What makes it special is its:
Steep ascents that challenge your endurance.
Dense forest cover, offering shade, calm, and a true wilderness feel.
Fewer crowds compared to the main trails, giving you a more authentic hiking experience.

Pond Track
The journey begins from Rumli Village, Islamabad, following the jeep track route towards Patria Chilla Gah

This is not a government-marked trail, but a natural path shaped by locals and nature itself. What makes this hike special:
A flat track that is easy to walk.
A dense forest cover that keeps the hike cool and shaded.
A peaceful pond view where you can take a break and enjoy the calm surroundings.
Important: Do not attempt this track without a guide. The dense forest and unmarked paths can make navigation difficult.

The Pond Track is a short, refreshing escape into nature. It’s simple enough for beginners yet unique enough to leave you with lasting memories of Margalla’s hidden beauty.

The Runner Track is one of the most peaceful routes in the Margalla Hills, perfect for beginners who want to enjoy a long walk without steep climbs or heavy crowds. This track connects two beautiful points and offers a refreshing outdoor experience.
Start : Patria Chilla Gah → Finish : Shahdara Valley
Trail Experience
This is not a government-marked trail, but it’s one of the calmest paths in Margalla. Highlights include:
A flat track – easy for walking and beginner hikers.
No crowd, making it peaceful and enjoyable.
Beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
The route is wide enough for cycling – though not recommended, we have tried it!

If you’re looking for a quiet, refreshing hike without the hustle of crowded trails, the Runner Track is an excellent choice. It’s simple, scenic, and ideal for building stamina.

Flower with Thorn Track, Margalla Hills Islamabad
For those who love endurance and raw adventure, the Flower with Thorn Track is one of the longest and most diverse trails in the Margalla Hills. From steep climbs to flat jeep tracks, wildflowers to waterfalls, this hike is a true test of stamina and spirit.

You can begin the journey either from Rumli Village or the Bruti Waterfall parking area.
Route: Bruti ➝ Pir Sohawa ➝ Dino Valley Top ➝ Jeep Track ➝ Back

Lantana Camara Track, Margalla Hills Islamabad
This week, our hiking community explores the Lantana Camara Track – a beginner-friendly route surrounded by the colorful yet wild Lantana Camara plants. Unlike traditional local paths, this is a relatively new trail experience that our club has been uncovering.

Rumli Village (approx. 10 km to the waterfall)
Shumber Waterfall Parking (approx. 6 km to the waterfall)

Every weekend, our hiking community gathers to explore the hidden beauty of the Margalla Hills. This week’s adventure took us to the Lohidandani Track, a beginner-friendly hike full of history, culture, and local life.

The journey begins from Rumli Village, Islamabad, a peaceful spot at the foothills of Margalla. From here, the trail winds its way through a natural setting that feels like stepping back in time.

Pir Sohawa Track, Margalla Hills Islamabad
Our weekly hiking adventures continue with another beautiful route in the Margalla Hills – the Pir Sohawa Track. This trail offers a mix of natural beauty, local culture, and a refreshing finish point high above Islamabad.
Starting Point
You can begin the hike either from Rumli Village or from the Bruti Waterfall parking area. Both routes connect into the main track leading all the way up to Pir Sohawa.
Trail Experience
The trail is not part of any government market; rather, it’s a pathway shaped by locals and nature itself. The journey takes you through:
Rumli Village ➝ Bruti Waterfall ➝ Pir Sohawa
Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning views, natural water streams, and peaceful resting spots.
At the Top
Reaching Pir Sohawa is a reward in itself. You’ll find refreshment options and a cool breeze waiting for you after the climb.
Half-Track Option
Not ready for the full trail? No problem! If anyone wishes to join us only for half the track, you are most welcome. Return transport can easily be arranged through InDrive or local taxis.
